Welcome to the races! The "Ladies Only" Sprint Triathlon benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and is designed for women of all ages looking for a fun challenge, meeting new friends and getting in shape. With the support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team In Training Program proceeds of the event will support their cause, to cure blood cancers. ABOUT "TEAM IN TRAINING"
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training is the world's largest endurance sports training program. The program provides training to run or walk marathons and half marathons or participate in hiking adventures, triathlons and century (100-mile) bike rides. Since 1988, more than 420,000 volunteer participants have helped raise more than $1 billion dollars. By helping to raise funds for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma
research and patient services you'll receive: Personalized fitness training by certified coaches for a period
of four to five months, sport specific training clinics and
support and a personalized training calendar. Fundraising support, including your own personal web page for online fundraising.

TRIATHLETES (solo) will complete a 400 meter swim..........12.1 mile bike ride........2 mile run (No outside assistance allowed)
TRIATHLON RELAY TEAMS consist of 3 athletes (one swimmer, one cyclist, one runner)
RACE START TIME:
8:00am
SWIM/RUN: Triathletes: Swim 1/4 mile
Triathletes will begin with a 400 meter (about 1/4 mile) swim along the beach front of Alum Creek State Park. Wet suits are permitted unless the water is too warm as determined by USA Triathlon. Water temperature is typically in the low 80's/high 70's. Swim caps will be provided. Expect about 3-4 separate "wave" starts grouped according to age group. Swim "wave" information will be included in the race confirmation packet and on race day. Water depth varies from 1-5 feet allowing for "timid" swimmers to stand if necessary.
BIKE: 12.1 miles (bike course pending due to road construction)
Triathletes enter the "transition" area to begin a scenic 12.1 mile bike race . Bike helmets are ALWAYS MANDATORY and drafting rules enforced. No headsets please. Roads are well paved with a few gently rolling hills.
RUN: 2-Miles
Athletes will cycle back to the transition area to begin a 2 mile run. Runners will enjoy a combination of a beautiful tree lined trail and running high atop the Alum Creek Dam.
NOTE: USA Triathlon rules will be strictly enforced to assure the safety and wellness of each competitior. PLEASE be familiar with all of the rules and regulations of drafting, passing, and bike helmet standards.
RACE DIVISIONS
AGE GROUP: 16-17, 18-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+ “ All age group athletes must participate and compete in the age group division corresponding to the athlete’s age on December 31 of the year for the event”
ATHENA DIVISION: 150LBS/WOMEN (honor system)
RELAY: ONE SWIMMER, ONE CYCLIST, ONE RUNNER (NOTE: CAN'T FIND A THIRD MEMBER? WHY NOT DO A TWO PERSON RELAY AND HAVE ONE OF THE RELAYS MEMBERS DO "EXTRA DUTY"!
RELAY TEAM MEMBERS PLEASE NOTE: No on-line registration is available for relays since we need signed waivers. Please copy the on-line printable entry form, make copies and MAIL them together alomg with entry fee.
AWARDS: Top 3 per division. Awards are based on pre-registration numbers on the Wednesday before the event and will be issued accoring to your age on RACE DAY.
CHIP TIMING: Electronic timing chips will be issued on race day for fast and accurate results.
NO TRANSFER POLICY IS STRICLY ENFORCED. If you can not make the race please notify the office for entry into next year's race.
RACE PACKETS: Your Wendy’s race packet will include a colorful technical shirt with the official race logo, EAS Sports Nutritional product, swim cap, race number, bike frame number, finish line food and beverage. ALL FINISHERS ARE AWARDED ATTRACTIVE MEDALS WITH RIBBON.
PRE-REGISTRATION AND PACKET PICK-UP: Tri-Tech Multi-Sport (6185 N Huntley Rd, 614-846-1516). Beginning June 5th thru June 11th. Hours: Monday through Friday 11-7pm Sat 11-6 Closed Sunday. Walk in registration is available....cash or check only. ALL CURRENT USAT MEMBERS MUST SHOW A MEMBERSHIP CARD (NO EXCEPTINS). Pacets will only be issued to the participant and ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING A VALID ID. Family, friends, and relay team members can not pick up packets. Sorry!
RACE DAY REGISTRATION AND PACKET PICK-UP: Alum Creek State Park starting at 6:30am. Please arrive early for race day registration.
DIRECTIONS TO RACE SITE: NOTE-THE ACCESS ROAD FROM ROUTR 23 TO ALUM CREEK STATE PARK IS CLOSED. PLEASE USE THESE DIRECTIONS ON RACE DAY. From Columbus take I-71 north past the 270 outer belt (the next exit is Polaris). Take the Polaris exit and turn RIGHT. Go about 1/2 mile and turn left at Worthingtn Road. Take Worthington Road about 1 mile at turn left on Africa Road.Go a couple miles and turn left at the (Lewis Center and Walnut Road) intersection. Go about one mile on Lewis Center. Alum Creek State Park is located about two miles on the right side of the road.
HOTEL INFORMATION: Hilton Garden Inn Polaris, located at 8535 Lyra Drive (drive west on Polaris Parkway, turn left onto Lyra) has rooms blocked for this event. The special room rate of $99 is available until May 13th. Call 614-846-8884 to make your reservations, and mention the Wendy’s Triathlon/Duathlon room block to receive the discounted rate.
