Welcome to race #5 in our 2008 Mideast Multi-Sport Series. The Outer Limits Triathlon and Duathlon is one of our favorite events and a "must" for first timers. Located just minutes away from downtown Columbus the Outer Limits Triathlon/Duathlon combines a fantastic quarry swim, scenic bike course and a on-road off road running event.

USA TRIATHLON SANCTIONED: The Outer Limits Triathlon/Duathlon is fully sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT) the national governing body of the sport of triathlon and duathlon. All contestants will be required to abide by all the rules and regulations of USAT including membership. Their are two membership options. Option #1 is an annual membership to USAT. Call USA Triathlon at 1-719-597-9090 for membership details. All members must show their current USAT membership card at registration so give yourself plenty of time for membership processing and mail delivery. Option #2 is designed for "one time" participation in a USAT sanctioned event. Those choosing this option will be required to include an additional $10 (NON-USAT MEMBERSHIP FEE) This fee will be included in your registration and forwarded to the national office.
ABOUT THE COURSE:
Triathlon: Swim ½ Mile - Bike 16 Miles - Run 5K
Duathlon: Run 2 Miles - Bike 16 Miles - Run 5K
Triathlon 1/2 Miles:The swim is 1/2 mile in distance and will be along the banks of the Anderson Concrete quarry. The water is very comfortable but wet suits will be permitted pending USAT rules and race day temperature regulations. A pre-race warm-up will be permitted within the confined area of the course. Swim "wave" information will be included in you race confirmation packet. Swim caps provided.
Duathlon 2 Mile Run: The DUATHLON run #1 is two miles (one mile out and back) and combinations both on-raod and off road. Check out our map for a great view.
BIKE (16 Miles: The entire bike course is on paved roads so don’t let the name "Outer Limits" fool you. Check out the course map while visiting this site.
RUN (5K):The run is an extention of the duathlon run #1 and is a combination of both on-road and trail running. See map for details.
RACE DIVISIONS
AGE GROUP: 16-17, 18-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
RELAY (MEN/WOMEN/MIXED): Combines one runner and one cyclist.
CRUISER/ATHENA: 190LBS/MEN 150LBS/WOMEN
AWARDS: Top 3 per division. Awards are based on pre-registration numbers on the Wednesday before the event and will be issued accoring to your age on RACE DAY.
NO TRANSFER POLICY IS STRICLY ENFORCED. If you can not make the race please notify the office for entry into next year's race.
RACE PACKETS: Your Outer Limits race packet will include an attractive technical shirt, EAS energy products, SportClips certificate, and more.
PRE-REGISTRATION AND PACKET PICK-UP Tri-Tech Multi-Sport (6185 N Huntley Rd, 614-846-1516). Beginning July 7th through July 11th. Walk in registration is available.Hours:Monday through Friday 11-7pm Sat 10-6pm Closed Sunday.

DIRECTIONS TO TRI-TECH: From Columbus take I-71 north about 10 miles and exit at Dublin Granville Rd (Route 161). Go left at the light for about 1/2 mile and right at Huntley Rd. Tri-Tech is about 1/4 mile on the left side of the road inside the Worthington Commerce Center. Walk in registration is available....cash or check only (no credit cards accepted)
RACE DAY REGISTRATION AND PACKET PICK-UP: Both will begin at 5:30am. Please arrive early for race day registration.
DIRECTIONS TO THE RACE SITE: Anderson Concrete/Shelly Materials is located just south of Downtown Columbus. From Columbus take I-71 south to the Frank Rd. (exit 104). Take Frank Rd. right at the first traffic light and drive back underneath I-71. Look for Haul Rd. about 1 mile down the road. Take the Haul Rd. exit and turn left underneath the tunnel. Look for parking signs along Haul Rd.
