WE'RE LIVE! Finally, after over a year of this "virtual stuff", we can get back to normal (or a new normal). Thanks to our friends at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium we are excited to present the Zoo RunRun 5K and kids EleFunRun.
We have a new course this year along with the traditional EleFunRun around Conservation Lake. We will be enforcing current CDC rules that we outline below so please help us keep the event safe and enjoyable. Your entry into this years event will include the following:
All day zoo pass
Awesome tee-shirt for both the 5K and EleFun Run (kids 9-under)
Custom medal
Free parking
5K run or walk
Zoo RunRun 5K 8:45am
START/FINISH IS AT THE "TIGER SHELTER"
This event is a 3.1 mile run or walk that will start next to Discovery Lake. Look for directional signs when you enter the zoo.
All participants will be "chip timed" for quick and accurate results. Awards will be issued to the top 5 finishers in both the male and female division. All participants will receive a great looking technical shirt specifically designed for 5K runners and walkers. Also included will be individual bib assignments, custom finisher's medal, all day zoo pass plus finish line food and beverage.
Note of interest: Due to the sensitive nature of wildlife the 5K course was designed to bypass some of the Columbus Zoo habitat. Therefore, some of the course is outside the immediate zoo grounds. Following the race, however, we encourage 5K runners and walkers to take full advantage of their all day zoo pass and see why the Columbus Zoo is a national treasurer. NOTE: THERE IS A STRICT ONE HOUR TIME LIMIT FOR THIS EVENT.

The morning begins with our EleFUNrun 1/3 miler beginning at 8:30am. Kids will run around Conservation Lake and will be awarded a handsome finisher medal . All kids will receive a cool looking t-shirt plus an all day zoo pass. Bring a camera! Ideal for kids 9 and under. NOTE: Non participants planning to watch the kids run are required to purchase a zoo ticket. These discounted tickets can be purchased in front of the main entrance at the registration tables.
Registration + Packet Pick-Up
Your "zwag" bag can be picked up at the new Powell Columbus Running Company located at 141 Greenside Street (Unit A). Use 147 Olentangy Street on your GPS (614-553-7074). Packets will be issued beginning Friday, October 29th (10am-8pm) thru Saturday, October 30th (10am-6pm). There will be limited packet distribution on race day in front of the main zoo entrance beginning at 6:30am Note: Your packet includes a zoo ticket that must be submitted at the zoo entrance "turnstile". Non-participants will need to purchase a discounted ticket ($9.00) at the zoo prior to the race.
Race Day Check-In
RACE DAY INSTRUCTIONS. VERY IMPORTANT! Race day packet pick-up begins at 7:30am
If you picked-up in advance then proceed to the main gate with your zoo admission ticket. Current zoo members must show their credentials. Go immediately to the TIGER SHELTER and await the start of the race.
Family and friends who wants to come and support the participants be required to purchase a discounted ticket. Tickets will be issued in front of the zoo entrance on race day beginning 6:30am
If your child is participating in the EleFunRun (1/3 mile around Discovery Lake) we suggest you get there a little early so you have enough time to walk to the TIGER SHELTER located just past Conservation Lake.
Entry Fee + Family Plans
ENTRY FEE'S:
>> 5K Run/Walk : $45 (Current Zoo Members:$40 and must show proof of membership at packet pickup)
>> Kids EleFUNrun (ages 2-9): $30 (must pre-register by October 17th to be guaranteed a shirt).
NOTE: All non participants who plan on entering the zoo grounds are required to purchase a discounted ticket ($9.00) at the registration table located in front of the main entrance.
FAMILY SAVER:
>> Participants can save $5 per entry by registering yourself and 3 or more of your friends. Simply register your entire group on line by clicking this link.
FRIENDS AND FAMILY MEMBERS WHO ARE COMING TO THE RACE AS "CHEER LEADERS" BUT NOT PARTICIPATING NEED TO PURCHASE DISCOUNTED TICKET ON RACE DAY TO ENTER THE ZO0.
Safety First
Please help us keep the event safe by following a few basic rules:
GET VACCINATED! This is a no brainer but we also realize that not everyone will be on the "same page." We're not here to judge but only to make recommendations based upon what we have learned from the CDC.
The CDC reports that outdoor events are venues least likely to spread the Coronavirus. Regardless, whether you are vaccinated or not we ask you to practice social distancing.
Hand sanitizer will be located throughout the designated race "staging area".
